oakleaf rainbow socks

i haven't been very crafty of late but i have started the oakleaf socks in a lovely fleece artist yarn. i think it is blueface leister in a mostly pinks and blues rainbow colour. the pattern is a new one for me so it is slow going at the moment until i get the pattern into my head. also slow going as i am using 2mm needles and the yarn is very fine. my last pair of socks was a much heavier yarn on 31/4 mm needles. they worked up very quickly. i'll post pictures when the internet is back in upper camp/suburbia.
i'll be making soap today here in the kitchen. i will probably make oatmeal lavender or perhaps citrus cornmeal.

spinning and knitting completion

i finished spinning and plying the aurora polworth and the aldo/doghair polworth blend. i have four skeins and enough yardage to make a vest or a small sweater.
i started the "heavy socks" in briggs&little yarn in dark maroon and oxford at the end of may and finished them last night. they worked up very quickly. i might keep these for myself as the tension is very slightly different in the two socks but will likely give them away as a christmas present.
i purchased more thread for the "crazy dreams" project the last time i was home for the weekend so i'll pick up that project soon and get stitching.
i'm not sure yet what i will start knitting next perhaps some mitts as i also purchased "folk mittens" when i was last at home. so many beautiful patterns to choose from. i will try knitting two at a time with the magic loop technique.
